Summary: Produces eye candy as a visual accompaniment to music. |
Synaesthesia (which includes a fully functional CD player) is an X Window System based program which graphically represents music (from a CD or line input) in real time as a shimmering field of fog and glowing lines. Synaesthesia is better than the usual music eye candy because it combines an FFT and stereo positioning information to give a two dimensional display. The detailed display allows you to distinguish different instruments, singers or special effects on screen by their locations, shapes and colors.
