Instructions for installing the Ensoniq DOS drivers for your AudioPCI card and Creative cards that are rebranded Ensoniq AudioPCI cards.

Installation is simple!

Copy the AUDIOPCI folder into the root directory of C:

So basically after you have copied the folder you want to have C:\AUDIOPCI with all the files in that folder!

Next open the supplied AUTOEXEC.BAT (or copy from this file) and copy paste 4 lines into your own AUTOEXEC.BAT

SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 T2
SET SNDSCAPE=C:\AUDIOPCI
C:\AUDIOPCI\APINIT.COM
C:\AUDIOPCI\APLOAD.EXE

When you have copied the AUDIOPCI folder and inserted these 4 lines into your AUTOEXEC.BAT, reboot your machine and your card should be up and running.

Note that I have set the 8MB soundfont as default.

There is a file SNDSCAPE.INI and if you want to make changes to the configuration of your card (e.g. change IRQ from 7 to 5 or change MIDI port from 330 to something else or change the default mixer settings), just edit this file.

At the bottom of the file is reference to EAPCI8M.ECW which is the 8MB soundfont file. Just replace the 8 with a 4 or 2 to use the 4MB or 2MB soundfonts.
